The DDG Board at its meeting in Santo Domingo in February, 2013.

Bill Kunkle, the Executive Director of the Dominican Development Group, has set the next meeting of the Board of Directors of the Dominican Development Group for Monday, October 21, in Omaha, Nebraska. The Board traditionally meets twice each year, once in Santo Domingo immediately following the annual convention of the Episcopal Diocese of the Dominican Republic, and once in one of the DDG’s companion dioceses in the United States. This next meeting will be held in conjunction with the 146th Annual Council of the Episcopal Diocese of Nebraska in Omaha from October 18-19.

The DDG Board will meet from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. on Monday, October 21. Board members arriving early are invited to attend the first business session of the Diocese of Nebraska’s convention on Saturday, October 19. The Rt. Rev. Julio C. Holguín, Bishop of the Diocese of the Dominican Republic and a DDG board member, will address the convention during this time.

Board members who are present on Sunday, October 20, will have an opportunity to volunteer to speak at local Episcopal Churches about the work of the DDG and the Episcopal Church in the Dominican Republic. St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Omaha will host a “Dominican Night” for the Board members starting at 5:00 p.m. on the 20th, with a social hour followed by dinner and entertainment.

One highlight of this Board meeting will be the report on the state of the organization and its many programs from the new Executive Director, Bill Kunkle. The Board will then proceed to establish organizational goals for 2014.
