Violet (Vi) Keester, the wife of Jack Keester, died on April 14, 2016, in Lincoln, NE. At the request of the family, burial will be private. Vi will be interred in the columbarium at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church, 2325 S. 24th Street, Lincoln NE 68502. In 2001, the Keesters established a 501(c)(3) organization, Colegio Kids, to raise funds for scholarships for children in the Dominican Episcopal schools and to support other health-related programs of the Dominican diocese. In September 2014, Don Peeler, a veteran mission team leader from Nebraska, wrote this article for the Diocese of Nebraska’s newsletter about the children and programs benefitting from the funds raised by Colegio Kids: “Colegio Kids: Making A Difference in the Dominican Republic Through Education.”
